The History of SNA International
Based in the Washington, D.C. metro area, SNA International is a world-recognized consulting firm offering expert advice in forensic science consulting, mass fatality planning and response and information technology tools.
Dr. Amanda Sozer and Stephen Niezgoda began operations in October of 2002 as Sozer, Niezgoda and Associates, LLC. Bringing together Mr. Niezgoda's information technology experience paired with Dr. Sozer's laboratory operation experience, the company initially focused on forensic DNA management and consulting. Sozer, Niezgoda and Associates also provided technology tools to enhance forensic operations. Following their work in the 9/11 World Trade Center and Hurricane Katrina mass fatalities, Dr. Sozer and Mr. Niezgoda realized the need to expand their organization to meet the need of mass fatality planning to include body recovery, family assistance and morgue operations. In 2008 they formalized their mass fatality preparation and response services by appointing Arbie Goings as the Director of these services. In 2009 Sozer, Niezgoda and Associates, LLC, changed their name to SNA International to reflect the company's increasing international accomplishments.
